Our Yoga teacher, Nives Uljan, will lead us through the amazing Hatha Yoga story. She prepared an excellent program, which is suitable for everybody. We will practice this ancient, classic yoga style to get fit and encourage a healthy mind & body connection. Yoga in the forest za spletno stranHatha Yoga is called a "dual" type of yoga because it includes a duality between two opposites: the sun (in Hindi, "ha") and the moon ("tha"). Some who practice Hatha Yoga call it a "yoking" yoga as it joins these two opposites together. This main established principle for Hatha Yoga leads to specifically structured poses and other activities that help with body and mind "purification" through principles like asana, postures, pranayama (subtle energy control), purification practices ("kriyas") and promoting harmony of the body and mind.

Yogis believe breathing to be the most important metabolic function; we breathe roughly 23,000 times per day and use about 4,500 gallons of air, which increases during exercise. Thus, breathing is extremely important to health and prana or life-force. If we breathe incorrectly, we are hampering our potential for optimal health. Pranayama, literally the "science of breathing" or "control of life force," is the yogic practice of breathing correctly and deeply.

Some yoga masters (yogis) claim that Hatha yoga was originally developed by enlightened teachers to help people survive during the Age of Kali, or the spiritual dark ages, in which Hindus believe we are now living.

Healing gongThe Gong is one of man’s oldest and most powerful transformational and therapeutic instruments. It has been used for rituals, ceremonies, prayer and meditation since the Bronze Age. Its sound is relaxing, calming, centering and energizing. Gongs are useful for resolving the emotional and physical dissonance. Magic happens when there is no separation between the gong, the player and the listener. Playing and listening to gongs is about spiritual, physical and emotional resolution – opening doors and windows to the Universe moving around, Universal energies; to enter a spiritual dimension.

The Gong is a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system and for breaking up emotional blockages. When skillfully played, gongs stimulate and resonate all cells in the human body simultaneously and recalibrate the parasympathetic nervous system.

In the completely meditative state of being awake while completely asleep (the 4th-dimensional gong experience), we increase the re-youthing potential of the innate intelligence without going into unconsciousness. The personal ego is then able to attain a state of non-judgment or neutrality. This is the state of total body & mind harmony.


Mandala Drawing


Mandala MargaretaThe Mandala is a circular figure, ornamented with symbols that are generally divided into four sections. It is well known in India and Tibet, where it has been used for centuries by ascetics and mystics to aid in contemplation. Life is seen as meandering paths that always lead back to the Center. Freedom stretches only as far as the limits of our consciousness.

C. G. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. He drew mandalas to understand his own conscious. Eventually, he realized that, like the designs he was drawing, his own life had been a series of meandering paths that bent back upon each other and yet always led back to the center. Jung’s reasoning for the similarity in mandala symbols created by his patients is that these symbols and images come from the collective unconscious and are therefore archetypes, or primordial images, which reside in each of us. During the years that Jung spent drawing and painting mandalas, he came to understand that “the goal of psychic development is the Self."

At the ICJ workshop you will create own mandala and go where it leads you. Entering with meditation in order to each receive a unique personal mandala, for treatment or help with personal issues. Then we will create their physical appearance by painting them on a canvas, capturing the vibrational essence we received in meditation. With assistance of the mandala artist and healer Margareta Selena, we will get to know the basics of how to use compositional elements like color, line, shape, rotation, etc., to support the intention of each mandala. The finished paintings will then emanate the healing properties each of us wished for.

Nutrition is the biological process in which organisms assimilate food and fluids necessary for operation, growth and the maintenance of its vital functions. Nutrition is principally about making the most of the nutrients in food whilst maintaining the balance of the organism at a molecular and macro-systemic level. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about nutrition, as much about the process during the fast as well as your normal dietary routine.

The focus is on educating people to make the right choices for a natural, chemical-free and unrefined diet. It’s also important to source food ethically, sustainably and locally. Whether your main goal is to have more energy, improved health, enhanced cooking skills, or to increase knowledge on wholefoods, a tailored plan can help you achieve it with a mix of healthy, simple and nourishing recipes. 

We will speak about enzymes, how nerves of the colon affect every part of the anatomy, further on we will speak about malnutrition, milk, how to eat correctly, food vibration, how to combine food, carbohydrates and proteins, frozen food, snacks, sweets and more about other unhealthy food we like to eat so much. If you have eating issues, the ICJ event is the right place to be.

During fasting, we are also cleansing our mind. The spiritual body is covered with many layers of thoughts and emotions. Releasing these emotions is a very important part of internal cleansing.

This means that every tissue, organ and muscle in our body is carrying the emotions of anger, pain, loss, sadness, regret, guilt, shame, rejection, jealousy and so on. The emotions overload our internal system and can cause physical illnesses. Therefore, it is good to cleanse out toxic emotions that are embedded in the cells.

Being satisfied with oneself, with one's relationships, successfully coping with stress and difficulties of everyday life means to live in an inner balance. When we start living in the harmony of inner and outer aspects of our life, our expectations and goals start to align by themselves in a natural way. With the step-by-step method offered at the retreat, we will slowly become aware of the mental processes or the mental and emotional patterns that lead us through life and are the basis of our actions and emotions. By raising awareness of these processes, we can move freely between our own mental and emotional patterns or beliefs, changing them where necessary, thus making us more real-life in relationships.

Some fundamentals on which our advisory approach is based: realistic therapy (W.Glasser) with knowledge of other therapeutic methods, Buddhist principles and advaita principles of understanding life and man.


 Walking the Rikli Paths

The Rikli paths were established during the time Arnold Rikli was active as a healer in Bled. Here, he and his patients lived under the principles of his healing (water, air and the sun). Part of the daily routine was a morning walk on an empty stomach, where they hiked up the Straža hill barefoot.

The Rikli path runs from the ascent to Straža at the Bled promenade to the monument of Arnold Rikli and back. At the top of the hill there is a wonderful view of the lake and its surroundings. On Straža we can find natural energy points.




The Jelka hotel has its own sauna and it will be at our constant disposal. You can use it as much as you want. Especially in case of bad weather and cold temperatures outside, we will relax in a hot sauna. Sitting in a sauna or a steam room induces sweating and elimination of uric acid thus aiding detox. Throughout history, physicians have extolled the medicinal value of the sweat bath.

SAUNASweat has the function of being a judicious garbage collector. During a 15-minute sauna, sweating can perform the heavy metal excretion that would take the kidneys 24 working hours. Ninety-nine percent of what sweat brings to the surface of the skin is water, but the remaining one percent is mostly undesirable waste. Excessive salt, carried by sweat, is generally believed to be beneficial for cases of mild hypertension. Some mental hospitals use saunas in their rehabilitation programs to pacify patients.
